2026 – Call for Applications
The French Academy of Sciences and the Indonesian Academy of Sciences jointly award a Scientific Prize intended to promote excellence in scientific cooperation between their two countries.
The prize will recognize outstanding joint achievements by a pair of researchers – one affiliated with an Indonesian research institution and the other with a French research institution – and will encourage the continuation of their collaboration.
In 2026, the prize is endowed with
18 000 € in prize money
( divided as follows: 3,000 € for each Laureate and 12,000 € as a research Grant)
Eligibility, Criteria
- The call is open to all research fields;
- Candidate teams must jointly complete a single (1) Application from;
- Applicants must :
- form a binational team of two researchers
- one affiliated with an Indonesian research institution; and
- one affiliated with a French research institution;
- have established a longstanding research collaboration;
- have produced joint achievements through this collaboration
- demonstrate a commitment to sustaining and further developing this collaborative work in the near future
- form a binational team of two researchers
- Letter of support: a maximum one letter of support per application is allowed. Written by a distinguished or internationally recognized scientist in the field, the letter should endorse the team’s candidacy and briefly highlight the applicants’ qualifications and potential. It should be sent separately by email and should not exceed three pages.

The application form must be written in English and submitted by June 8th, 2026, by email as a single PDF file to
relations.internationales@academie-sciences.fr
Letters of support must be sent in a separate email.

Evaluation Procedure
The selection of applicants is based on the above-mentioned criteria and is carried out by a Jury composed of an equal number of Academicians from the two countries, with a minimum of three members appointed by each Academy. Jury members are selected for their scientific expertise in the research areas relevant to the applications.
Decisions are made by absolute majority.
Announcement of Results and Award Ceremony
The Prize will be awarded at the Académie des Sciences, under the Dome of the Institut de France, during the séance solennelle on November 24th, 2026.
